Children?s Cancer Care

Powering the fight against children?s cancer

Through serving our healthcare customers worldwide, we learn about medical trends and needs???such as the void of new, innovative children?s cancer treatments. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved only one new treatment for any type of childhood cancer since the 1980s, compared with 50 approved treatments for adult cancers in the same time period. Dell is working to change this by designing and developing technology that can help our research partners accelerate treatments significantly.

Brooke's Story
In parallel to this work, Dell is helping nonprofits worldwide as they provide comfort and care to young cancer patients and their families. Through our multimillion dollar, multiyear commitment, our support ranges from establishing remote learning opportunities for hospitalized children to funding leukemia treatments for children who would otherwise have to discontinue treatment. By applying our technology, expertise, donations and employee volunteerism, we hope to open new possibilities for children fighting cancer.

Accelerating treatments for pediatric cancer

Our Children's Cancer Care initiatives help power clinical researchers and doctors around the world, with high-speed cloud computing solutions that can allow experts to identify and share personalized treatments in days instead of months. Dell?s support will also expand the reach and impact of the world?s first FDA-approved personalized medicine trial for pediatric cancer, which is a collaboration between the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) and the Neuroblastoma and Medulloblastoma Translational Research Consortium (NMTRC). Offering support for families

We support nonprofits worldwide through activities such as providing remote learning for children facing treatment, connecting families who are living remotely while their children are getting the care they need, issuing grants to cover cancer treatment for those who cannot afford it, funding pediatric care facilities and supporting outreach work. In the U.S., our own team members also provide comfort and personal support to families living in homes away from home like the Ronald McDonald House. Read about our partners
