Pink Bus a Reminder of Breast Cancer Battle

October may be almost over, but breast cancer awareness will continue year round in Lincoln.

Breast cancer survivors signed the Star Tran pink bus at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center Tuesday.

It's a chance for these women to reflect on their battle or remember those who lost.

It's also a reminder of the importance of early detection.

For survivor Juanita Phillips, the cause is all about family.

She says, "We have a family history. My mother had breast cancer and my older sister was also diagnosed the year before I was so it always means a lot to us to support everything we can with breast cancer."

The pink bus is part of Lincoln's Star Tran fleet and will be cruising around the capital city for the next year.
