Notes: USC Upstate, playing at home for the first time since Dec. 1, beat Kennesaw State on Saturday afternoon, 68-53. The Spartans, who finished at the bottom of the Atlantic Sun Conference last season, can tie Belmont for first place. ? USC Upstate is 5-0 at home. ? Craig is the leading scorer in the Atlantic Sun conference. He had a career-high 29 points last week at East Tennessee State, then had 28 with 10 rebounds in the win against Kennesaw State. ? Mercer is coming off a 76-61 loss Saturday at East Tennessee, which beat USC Upstate on Wednesday. The Bears had won three in a row. They have victories this season against Georgia Tech (65-59) as well as Southern Conference teams Furman (66-46), Samford (83-78) and Chattanooga (67-56). ? Among the losses were at Missouri, Seton Hall and Georgia. ? The Bears lost at Atlantic Sun leader Belmont only 82-78.

Next: The Spartans go back to Florida to play Saturday at North Florida and Monday at Jacksonville before coming home to play Belmont in a 2 p.m. game on Jan. 21, the start of a three-game home stand.
